Internships

Arcadia Community Center is proud to offer a variety of opportunities to get involved with the rewarding work and service that we perform. In addition to regular volunteering, internships at the Community Center are also available. These internships are open to anyone, whether you are in or out of school.

There are two basic types to choose from:

• Americorps*VISTA Summer Associates: While not an internship, this is a nine-week program in June and July 2009 available to five highly motivated individuals. This is an immersive, full-time PAID experience-- associates will function as a full member of both the Arcadia Community Center staff. This is a truly incredible opportunity, and your time spent at Arcadia will not only be a lot of fun, but will enhance your professional and personal development in ways that are hard to imagine beforehand! • Custom Internship Experiences: If you are looking for an internship opportunity during the school year or during the summer, we are happy to help you design one that fits your needs and interests! While our Summer Associate positions cannot be structured as internships, other opportunities can be designed during the summer programming. Internships can incorporate other regular volunteer activities (such as one-on-one tutoring), or can center around special projects (such as designing and teaching a five-week workshop series). They can also involve off-site service, such as coordinating donation drives and fundraisers. Just get in touch with us and let us know what you're interested in! These internships are open to both younger students and adults.
