We are proud to offer a variety of programs and resources for our neighbors and the broader South Central area. Our services include:Studying after school

  • R.A.A.P. (Refugee Adolescent Advocacy Program): A pioneering program reflecting the Community Center's dedication to and focus on our refugee youth. Each staff member works closely with a handful of teens to set and achieve personal goals, such as improved academic performance, admittance into a new school, resolution of social conflicts, and so on depending on the needs and aspirations of the teen.
  • Afterschool Programming: Monday through Thursday, the Community Center offers snacks, activities designed to promote literacy, and homework help to both youth and elementary students. Included in the program are field trips, guest speakers, and other special events.
  • Summer Camp: A six-week day-camp style program for both youth and elementary students. The program includes a cohesive curriculum, special activities and projects, guest speakers and educators, and field trips.
  • Resident's Council: Every month, proactive residents, the manager of the neighborhood rental office, and members of the Community Center staff meet to discuss neighborhood issues and plan new initiatives.
  • Food & Clothing Pantry: Managed by dedicated volunteers who live in the neighborhood and stocked by Dare to Care, the pantry provides supplemental food and clothing aid to residents living in the Arcadia Apartments.
  • Walk-in Assistance: Every week, the Community Center's doors are open to residents who need our assitance with a variety of issues, Halloween Field Tripwhether it's filling out forms for school and work, making appointments, or navigating the system of social services in Jefferson County.
  • Adult English as a Second Language Classes: Every Thursday evening from 6:30 to 8:30pm, the Community Center offers an ESL class to all members of the community looking to improve their English skilss. All nationalities and levels of English proficiency arewelcome.
  • Other Special Events: The Arcadia Community Center hosts a variety of special events for both members of our programming and the entire community throughout the year, such as our annual Fall Festival.
